The context
A Parisian law firm is looking for an exceptional candidate.
Our client is a Parisian law firm of human size, recognized for its expertise in social law and social protection, working with a clientele of companies — HR directors, business leaders, investment funds — on issues of collective and individual labor relations.
As part of its expansion, the firm sought to recruit a senior associate lawyer capable of independently managing a portfolio of advisory and litigation cases, while seamlessly integrating into the culture and values of a human-sized organization. This profile is as rare as it is strategic for the firm's continued success and growth.
The stakes
A recruitment process with two dimensions: technical and human.
The legal sector is one of the most demanding in terms of recruitment of senior profiles. Skilled candidates are rare, highly sought after, and seldom actively looking for work. Approaching them requires tact, credibility, and a deep understanding of their professional environment.
Beyond technical skills — mastery of social law and social protection, litigation experience, excellent writing skills — the desired profile had to present specific behavioral qualities: rigor, autonomy, customer service skills, listening skills and ability to work in a team in an environment with a strong professional culture.
The candidate was also required to hold a Master II degree in Social Law or a DJCE (Diploma of Higher Studies in Business Law), a CAPA (Certificate of Aptitude for the Legal Profession), and 5 to 7 years of experience in a recognized law firm practicing social law. Fluency in operational English was also essential.
Our approach
Personalized support at every stage
Aware of the sensitivity of this recruitment process and the rarity of the profile on the market, OREANCE deployed a dual approach combining direct approach and targeted dissemination on media dedicated to the legal sector.
Particular care was taken during the selection phase: beyond verifying qualifications and experience, each shortlisted candidate underwent a thorough assessment of their behavioral skills and their fit with the firm's culture. The shortlist submitted to the client was accompanied by a detailed, confidential report for each candidate.
Philippe Demarys personally participated in all the interviews conducted by the firm's founder, providing his perspective and advice at each stage of the decision-making process. Rigorous follow-up was ensured until the collaboration agreement was signed and throughout the integration period.

Why this project is representative of our approach
This project illustrates our ability to operate in sectors with a strong professional culture, where the credibility of the service provider is a non-negotiable prerequisite. Recruiting in the legal field requires understanding its codes, requirements, and timeframes—and adapting one's approach accordingly.
It also illustrates the personal involvement that characterizes each OREANCE mission: being present at all interviews, providing an advisory perspective beyond simple sourcing, and remaining committed until the integration is truly successful.
